Today, we made a barometer. We talked about air pressure and how it effects your ears. We also discussed 1 atmospheric pressure below -underwater.
Materials:
Soda Bottle
Straw
Balloon
Barometer: Directions
Place a balloon over the top of the soda bottle. Cut a small hole in the center of the balloon.
Cut a straw at an angle to make a pointer. Place the straw in the center of the balloon.
Fill a sink full of water. Place the soda bottle directly underwater. The soda bottle will be 1 atmospheric pressure below. The straw will move because of the pressure.
